    Requesting Technology (2011-2012)

The Exeter Township School District uses the Technology Request Process to select and implement new or upgraded hardware of software. This process ensures that technology resources are used as creatively, efficiently, and effectively as possible.

Staff members use this process whenever a new or upgraded hardware or software item is considered for implementation.

Our goals during this process are to:

    • Support teachers as they choose software and hardware for instruction.
    • Encourage careful decision-making at the building and district level regarding new hardware and software.
    • Establish and maintain consistency regarding the upgrading of hardware and software in our schools.
    • Ensure technical and instructional support for hardware and software.

Please Read: For classroom software and hardware budget items less than $250, your requests will stay at building level and are not to be included in the tech budget.

Please contact Joseph Way if you would like pricing from established vendors or volume pricing. There are contracts and special purchasing agreements in place to provide discounts on school purchases. If your requisition does not meet our requirements it will be cut. Please invest the time to ensure that your request meets the system requirements of the district’s technology.

    The Request Process

    1. Complete a Technology Request Proposal Form. Only complete forms will be accepted.
    2. Attach a document detailing costs. Be as thorough as possible. You should contact Joseph Way or Scott Schaeffer if you need information for a purchase or would like recommendations.
    3. Send signed copies of both completed request forms to the attention of the Joseph Way at the SHS no later than January 11th, 2011 at 4:00pm.

The Technology Supervisor and the Principals will meet to determine budget and make recommendations according to curriculum cycle and district goals. The Technology Supervisor and Principals will present their budget to the Superintendent and Business Manager for approval.
